OUR RAPTOR 60 (Eric's): Awesome performance with OS 70 SZH and Mavrikk Muffler. Mavrikk PRO series 680 Carbon blades Mavrikk 102mm Tail Blades, and V-Paddles. Mavrikk metal bearing blocks and Ace/TT Metal swash, DBC rear servo mount and CH Carbon pushrod. Other than that it's all stock, and it's a NICE FLYING MACHINE. This configuration is the BEST VALUE ON THE PLANET for a low cost, highly agile 3D machine! OS 70 gets great duration and has more than enough power, doesn't need any gear change nor need extra frame bracing. Zero maintenance except for head dampners over 7-8 cases of fuel. The ONLY OTHER SERIOUS UPGRADE we strongly recommend for 3D flying is the Top Dragon (TDR) Metal Head set. (See online catalog)
The Raptor 60 is a great flying heli. The Frames are GREAT, a mix of metal and high quality molded parts with low cost and very high strength. The ARF with engine includes a GOOD muffler. Kits and ARF w/o engine do NOT have mufflers and none of the stock TT kits have carbon blades, but they do have 660 wood blades suitable for hover testing.
The machine came as advertised for equipment - it has a simple torque tube drive for the tail and uses a split gear constant drive. The molded plastic canopy seems fairly light and definitely looks better than the 30 Raptor's, as do the attractive blue decals. OPTIONAL GEARS and PINIONS are available for the 90 engines. YOU CAN NOT install a YS engine in the stock kit unless you run an 8x1mm tap thru the flywheel, as the fan hub is threaded to fit the OS or ThunderTiger 70 engines only. Sorry! You can use the Ace metal fan (optional) for YS 60 or 90 without mods.
This heli has a split gear constant drive and torque tube driven tail. The front and rear drive gears for the torque tube are low cost, durable and precise molded units. Wipe out the entire boom, tail gear system and drive shaft and you'll spend about 20 minutes and $45 to have ot fixed. THAT's a FRACTION of what the Fury or Vigor will cost for a tail boom/drive system rebuild! The rest of the heli is similar - LOW maintenance, EASY to work on, and LOW parts cost.
