Our Piccolo came with no missing parts. They even have a bag
with a couple of "spares" just in case. Due to the
TINY size of some of the parts we suggest that you work with
very good lighting and over a non-carpeted floor. (You'll have
difficulty finding some of the fasteners if you drop them into
a rug!)
The gears on both the main and TR motors had some minor flaws
on one or two teeth. To get a good smooth fit we had to use a
sharp exacto knife to scrape a tiny bit off of a couple of teeth.
Also, you'll find it much easier to get the tiny wire "pins"
into the main gear/shaft and head clip/shaft joints if you first
puch the wire throgh both of the components individually to "open
up" the holes slightly.
1/17/2000 update: There's nothing very hard about assembling
the heli. The new Berg receiver works FLAWLESSLY. It is slightly
bigger and the connector pins now stick straight out the end,
making mounting more cumbersome, but workable. (Position the
plugs with the SIGNAL wire on the outside, or towards the component
side of the RX board). As expected the little fellows are challenging
to fly, but they do fly quite well. We had to do a lot of work
with the balancing of the paddles and a little on the main blades.
Also, the tiny pushrods for cyclic are too small for the pre-drilled
holes in anyone's servo arms, so you need to drill properly sized
holes in the arms or the slop will make it impossible to fly
in a small area. The 7c 270 mAh pack seems to be good for about
4+ minutes of hover.
