New Raptor 30 Upgrades
in stock include white boom, purple
booms, blue boom, extended boom and long belt for 580 blades
and the TT Aluminum Washout set. Raptor/Ergo Fin Mounts (anodized purple horizontal fin mounts and boom support
mount) are finally back in stock! Also, we now have a
motor mount for the Raptors that holds the OS 46 or 50
with no modifications. (You'll still need to drill out the fan
to fit the larger shafts).

The Hirobo Eagle
Freyais selling well and getting very good reviews.
Hirobo's reps have been busy flying the pants off this low-priced
new heli, it looks like a real winner. We have a lot of parts
in stock.
Futaba has just released a new version of
the 9Z systems, the "WC2"
has blue trim, very sharp (literally) stick ends and some new
software.
Fred Lewis, VP of Morgan Fuels confimed
for us that the Cool Power 15% heli fuel IS THE SAME as their
15% airplane fuel. BUT, the very popular Cool Power 30%
Heli Fuel IS DIFFERENT from any airplane fuel. It has more
oil and a completely different oil than any of their other fuels.
Also, the TowerPower heli fuel is the same as Cool Power brand.
(But they stopped handling the 30% for some wierd reason).
We have the Model
Sport Carbon blades, tail blades and Night Blades in stock.
They are superb blades, absolutely
beautiful. They kind of look like V-Blades and unfortunatley
will likely be just about as impossible to have in stock.
We now have a very likely
solution for the "Raptor Clutch Problem," which should
make Raptor clutch failures a thing of the past. And we have Quik's new Hi Carbon Steel
clutches as well. Check
it out.
Gem 2000s electronic guradians are now in stock. These are available with a bright red LED or a SUPER
BRIGHT green LED or with a pair of the green LEDs. They are a
voltage monitor and a lot more and are very popular.
We've run the new ACE
upgrade muffler and it's a GREAT muffler - smooth and
quiet. A must-have upgrade, either this muffler or a tuned pipe.
Now even lower priced, it's a must-have upgrade.
Carbon
Fin Sets in stock now for 30/46
helis, nice looking 3-D fins with pretty good machine work, carbon
weave finish, VERY LOW prices. Vigor 3-D fin sets as well as
some brand new (better design) carbon and aluminum boom supports
are also now in stock.
NEW Wiha tools -
we have added a very inexpensive metric L-wrench set and
a super glow plug wrench with a long shank and a padded
easy grip handle.
The Raytek guns are getting rave reviews,
and well deserved. Check them out, the best
tool for getting your heli engines set up right! We just
got a flyer from great plains offering a similar unit with a
DEALER price almost double what we sell these units for!
Just arrived
- JR's new G550T "Advanced Tail Lock" gyro.
Similar in performance to the G5000T, the "little brother"
does NOT require a JR digital or Super servo. Also just in are
the new CNC machined Tail Rotor Grips for X-Cell, part
#0860.
Vigor glass
canopies from Revolution are back in stock finally. Very nice
seamless layups.

Sirius Chargers was
recently bought by George Joy, who moved it to California and
is working to ramp up production. Founder Don McLaughlin will
continue as new product designer and consultant. Most pricing
is being increased.
Quick 30 Helis are
hitting the skies, including our own. Some teething and customer
service issues remain but this much is for certain - it's a LOT
of heli for the money! See our new initial review. Also check
our SUPER price on the 30 Carbon w/(3) 8231's.
Just in case you're wondering we do NOT
have parts for the Schluter Champion, the Kalt Enforcer,
the GMP Legend, the Dubro Whirly Bird or the un-identified heli
you got a "real good deal" on at your uncle's ex-wife's
babbysitter's brother's current drummer's garage sale. We also
do not stock parts for helis we don't sell that ARE presently
being sold. We don't plan to let any Hawk's into our store (we
feel the Raptor is the superior heli - by far - at that price
point) and we are "plumb scared" to put in Kyosho because
Great Planes can't ever fill more than a tiny fraction of our
orders from them as it is. If they can't handle keeping the most
popular radio set and the best selling heli engines in stock
I doubt they are any better at stocking the tail slider for a
Concept.
We shipped our first Kyosho Caliber.
Wow - what a machine and what a package. Don't just open it,
have your butler bring it in on a silver tray. (Rent a butler
for the day if you have to..) You expect a lot for $2199, and
in this case you certainly get it. Just gorgeous.
We stock the Quick 30 helis in both
the metal and carbon framed versions. The kit looks SUPER - a
lot of metal and bearings for the money. Metal fan, pre-built
metal head, metal arms, carbon boom supports with aluminum ends,
metal washout, metal T/R slider... and a very nicely done gel-coated
(white) glass canopy. No blades, but for a heli in the $400 range
it has awesome specs.
JR 8700G Servo Causes
interference! Brandon at Horizon East
tech support tells us that the new stickers on the 8700G servos
are for real - the servos appear to cause interference when
used with ANY FM R/C system. Horizon reportedly just figured
this out. THE SERVO WORKS GREAT WITH PCM modulation, but
has serious interference issues with non-PCM. They tell us they'll
"take care" of customers who bought it for use with
the FM systems. For now we suggest FM users try the JR Digital
"Ultra Speed" servo instead, #8417. It's a third
cheaper and a very good servo.
We can now configure your JR radio sets
to include different servos than the "stock" packages!

The Carbon Fiber and Titanium pushrod
sets are hot - 3/16 carbon rods with 4/40 threaded (barbed
for glueing) end fittings make a SUPER tail rotor pushrod for

rear servo mount (universal) or your favorite servo mount.

The Ace Raptor continues to impress
us a a great novice-to-mid level machine. It's easy to build
and inexpensive, with parts that are very affordable and come
in complete sets. BTW, unlike the virtually useless ThunderTiger
46 engines, the TT32 that comes with the pre-built Raptor is
a pretty fine engine, especially for the price. For hard-core
3D thrashing we think you might be better off with a Kalt Baron
or even the Shuttles (ZXX) in the 30-size range, but for sport
and training the Raptor is an EXCELLENT VALUE.
