Common Sense 3500KV TRex 450 Motor

My evaluation of the Common Sense 3500kv T-Rex 450 motor, item #TR450-35 has been enjoyable to say the say the least.
My T-Rex 450SE is the original and almost 3 years old. It is experienced in all ways and has never let me down. I wanted more “zip”, and was considering my options for a new power unit, when after talking with Common Sense and owning their 35amp speed control already, it was obvious to try this new motor.
I used the 15-tooth pinion and expected extra heat from the “wild” setup. After spooling up it was obvious I had plenty of horsepower. Using my currant 3 cell 2200 Air Thunder packs for comparison I had a totally new heli. What an awesome setup! My T-Rex was reborn. It was unbelievable how much difference there was compared to my old setup. Climb out was so fast and powerful that it felt it would go to the moon if I let it. Hucking it around was unbelievable. No bogging or any sign of weakness no matter what I tried to do. This setup is perfect. The guys at Common Sense have done their homework!
The speed control and the motor work together flawlessly. Even in 95-degree weather.
I now have 7 flights on this setup and no problems. It’s truly a plug and play setup with stellar performance. The speed control and motor get warm, but not hot. The battery runs about the same temp as my old setup. Performance increase is very noticeable compared to the stock motor. The price is VERY competitive.
If you were looking for an easy performance upgrade at a reasonable cost, I would heartily recommend you try this one. It will give your T-Rex 450 new life and you’ll love it!
