HOTTEST GYRO ON THE MARKET! As you can see it has separate sensor and control box, total weight is 51 grams. IT IS TO BE USED ONLY with the JR 8700G Super Servo or the JR 8417 Ultra Speed digital servo, and only on 4-cell (4.8v) systems.

We talked to Curtis and he says it's a phenominal gyro. His only "tip" is to reduce the gain slightly MORE than required to stop visible tail wag to prolong tail servo life.

The 5000 uses two channels (if available) for control - a gain channel and a mode channel. If you don't have the extra channel a dip switch lets you select Tail Lock mode as the full time mode. IN STOCK NOW. Give us a call to order.

Also in stock - the much lower priced but almost as awesome G550T Advanced Tail Lock gyro. Doesn't require (but can use) digital or super servo. The BEST DEAL AROUND is this gyro WITH the awesome 8700G Super Servo. (For use ONLY with PCM radios). The 550T holds virtually as well as the much higher priced 5000T. The only discernable difference for most pilots is that you will want to use a "stick priority' mix that reduces gain as you input rudder. (P-Mix, Master is Rudder and slave is the gyro gain channel). This allows you to optimize the holding power and still have as fast a piourette rate as you can handle.

Both gyros have an option to use remote mode switching OR to simply flip a switch on the gyro to select standard or "Tail Lock" (heading hold) mode. We leave it in heading hold and thus don't even use the 3rd connector nor any related programming.
