For years we've hated the choices in the 46/50 class of engines. NOT ANY MORE! The OS .50 is a smooth, reliable, consistent and AWESOMELY powerful engine from OS. Any 50 size heli will have abundant power and you won't have any rough mid-range as with the OS and TT46 engines. There is NOTHING bad to say about the OS .50 SXH - It's a WINNER! And it runs GREAT with the Mavrikk Hi Volume 109HV muffler, a steal at under $50! We've been flying the OS 50s a BUNCH - over 40 gallons in the bosses Raptor 50 - with no problems at all EVER - just a powerful, smooth, consistent and VERY ENJOYABLE experience! The stock muffler in the Raptor 50 V2 kits works fine by the way.

The OS .50SXH is a direct drop-in replacement for the OS .46 engine, same mounting, same muffler mounting, same prop-nut and crank. It has a new carb, the 40-E, which has a much larger and tapered venturi as you can see below (Left is OS .46, right is the .50). Looks like a close relative of the very reliable and workable carb on the .61LXH. IT WORKS FINE - there is no need to modify or replace this carb or anything else on the OS 50 - along with the OS 70 it is one of the MOST PERFECT engines we have ever had the pleasure to fly.
